Okay, so I've always adored Injun Joe and surprise he's not a kick ass girl or a grumpy old man. Go figure. Anyway, I decided I'm going to bring him to the village. My question is what do you think of Red Crow Westerman as a PB? I don't know if it's because I've met him or what, but he's who I picture when I read Listens-to-Wind.

For those that don't remember him from Dances with Wolves:

You duz! Muwahahaha.

Really, that's awesome. :) The Saukenuk (Sauk) and Mesquakie (Fox) tribes are in this area. One of my family's favorite places to go every January is the Bald Eagle Days where reps of the tribes hold a pow wow.

He's a good PB for Listens to Wind.

*preens* I iz speshul.

I love to go to pow wows. Whenever I go on vacation, I check to see if there is one in the area where I'm going to be. They are such fun.

Stop trying to distract me with "hot" RDA iconage. :P

You iz pretty speshul, yus. I have a very short list of people that I stalk.

I love them too. I've got an eastern tribe in my bloodlines--if I'd ever get my act together and continue my genealogy research in that direction, I'd figure out which one.

Oh how fun re: genealogy. I've always wanted to trace my roots back to see when my ancestors came over.

Geneology is my new passion. (Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] cyloran, and a mom who dumped several boxes of documents and old pictures on me.) I've gotten into the 1600's on one side of the fam--though not the one with the Indian heritage. :)

Oh how fun! 1600s that's pretty cool. Your Indian Heritage won't be documented that far back since yeah not much documentation on NAs but at least you know that side of your family was here before the Mayflower. :P

Oh, yes. Lots of fun and really addicting. It's very much like detective work. :) Tracing back and finding a Revolutionary War ancestor and then his rank, artillery line name, Corp name, captain's name, and enlistment date and location... er... yeah. It's fun.

The NA info will be a lot harder, yes. I'd like to at least narrow it down to an area and the probable tribes in that area during that time, though. :D

Oh how fun! My parents found a civil war veteran in ours with his roll call or whatever you call it that lists his company, where he was from, how old, tall, hair color, etc.

Yep. That's really cool and it's very much why I'm interested in history and genealogy. Things come alive when I read those things.

I love it!
