In which Manda whines about the weather
Jan. 11th, 2010 10:37 amSeriously! I know I have it better than say people in Iowa. :P But OMG this is a whole week of freezing weather. Normally, we get a day or two of a cold snap and that's it. I had ICE on my lawn yesterday. Sure, normal occurrence for most people in the winter but when I was out in the ocean surfing on Christmas Day, it's a freakazoid thing.
Okay, done ranting. *g* Hopefully the weather will be back up to 70 soon. Or I'm moving to Puerto Rico/Jamaica/*pick an island*
Time to do prompt writing before I get my ass kicked out of communities.
My New Year's Resolution was to write more. RP has taken up a lot of my time and I love it, but I'm going to get back into the writing thing whether it be fandom or original. I'm not quite up for the drabble a day though. You go

Date: 2010-01-12 12:01 am (UTC)I'll admit that I like the change of seasons and winter is one of my favorites... I even like snow. HowEVER, we've had enough of snow and arctic temps, kthxbai.
It can be warm and melt now. :)

Date: 2010-01-12 12:29 am (UTC)I can not imagine living in Alaska with no sun and snow up to the chimneys. Okay that's an exaggeration but I bet close. *g*

Date: 2010-01-12 12:35 am (UTC)I can't imagine that either--especially the no sun thing. That would kill me. Actually, I need to take some pix of the river tomorrow. It's been really cold for long enough to freeze over from bank to bank where I live.
Imagine it! The Mighty Mississippi frozen enough for people to walk across... believe it or don't. :) My husband's gramma can remember tales from her uncles and dad that they did exactly that a few winters way back when.
I sure wouldn't try it! O.o

Date: 2010-01-12 01:15 pm (UTC)Yeah, I'm not a big fan of the no sun I could much easier deal with sun 24/7 than to not have it.

Date: 2010-01-13 12:08 am (UTC)Dang! By the time I got over there today, we'd had nearly two full days of our heat wave (20's) and the ice has started to break up and move downriver. Most of that *is* snowy ice, but it's hard to distinguish. The top left sliver is the free-flowing middle of the river. :D
