verdantgtGotham Year One:
Buffy: Buffy arrived in Gotham in September. She'd been sent to a demon dimension (mostly as a distraction) by Giles to get information about Twilight. She was intercepted by the rift and landed in Gotham instead. In October, much to Buffy's surprise Tara arrived. It was a bittersweet reunion for Buffy seeing her friend alive once more.
In a desire to see more of Gotham, Buffy attended a magic show by Harry Dresden on Halloween. She met her separated at birth twin, Sue Storm where they bonded about having responsibility for a younger sibling before you were ready. She also learned from Harry that there was a place called Endor that had magical types there. She was hoping for help in getting the amulet working again so that she could get back to Dawn and the Slayers.
Unfortunately for Buffy, she began to need a job. It wasn't like being a Slayer could pay for things. Though there was a barter system in place, it wasn't making ends meet. Fortunately, Ellen was hiring and she got a job at Oxie's thanks in part to a recommendation from Sam. The pay was what it was and the atmosphere was crap but it was a way to make money and it allowed her to listen for information on a demon underground.
During one of her excursions into Chinatown to find demons, Buffy runs into Castiel. Not knowing that he's an angel, Buffy doesn’t quite understand the feeling that she has with him. The "trust" she experiences even though he's a stranger. She learns that he's a demon hunter and they agree to let the other know if they find out anything about a demon lair.
Willow arrived in the city, after the defeat of Glory. So while Buffy was thrilled to have her best friend there, she was kind of sad that it was the Willow before everything happened. It was hard to see the happiness and innocence that Buffy knew would be shattered by a bullet later. Buffy, Willow and Tara moved out of the shelter and into Endor at the invitation of Molly.
In a need to have some fun and forget the hard times of Gotham, Buffy dragged Willow and Tara out for a night of dancing at Apocalypse. There, she met Death though she had no idea that was who she was talking to. Like with Castiel, there was a "connection" that she didn’t understand.
Robinson Park was freed from Poison Ivy's stronghold and was in need of razing. Buffy needed to get rid of excess energy and wanted to help out so she donated her times. Boy was she ever glad that she did. She met Dani and learned there were people that were mutants, she met Johnny Storm, Sue's brother, and scored some ego boosting with flirting and a promise to get together later. Buffy also met Jen and learned about Stephanie designing clothes who might need more models. Buffy was all over that.
New Years Eve was a day of work for Buffy, not wanting to be reminded of how sucky her love life was. But to make up for that, she and Johnny go dancing the weekend after. It felt good to be young, pretty and just having a good time. It had been way too long that Buffy had just been Buffy having a good time. In the midst of the flirting, dancing and loving life, Buffy learned that Johnny, Sue, Ben and Reed had been doused with radiation giving them abilities. After learning that, Buffy revealed her own abilities.
In a chance meeting on the Internet, Buffy ran into Dr. Daniel Jackson at Alexandria's Library. He reminded her so much of Giles and Willow and when he didn't think she was nuts for mentioning mummies coming to life, Buffy relaxed further. She learned that he had just as many layers as she did and not everyone was what they seemed. They later shared a home cooked meal provided by Dr. Jackson and a few days later during a phone call arranged for another meeting where he could go on patrol with her. They run into bad guys in an alley, save the innocent but not before Buffy gets wounded with a knife. Daniel performs field medicine and their relationship moves forward a few more tentative steps.
Kyra: Kyra lands in Gotham in December straight from Crematoria. She learned that the gangs of Gotham are nothing compared to Crematoria. Easy pickings. Unknown to Kyra she does the exact same thing that Riddick does on his arrival. She began to scavenge off the scavengers. She wasn't in Gotham long when she heard rumors of a man, a predator that had been silent and the gangs attributed supernatural abilities to him. She needed to learn the power structure of Gotham so had gone in search of information. While searching, she ran into Riddick and knew that he was the predator that had the gangs all scared. The reunion didn't quite go as joyful as some might think. Kyra also learned that Carolyn was there, but she thought Riddick had finally gone insane, seeing dead people.
A week later, Kyra found out that Riddick wasn't insane when she ran into Carolyn. Unlike with Riddick there wasn't the tension of abandonment issues and her wall wasn't as tight around her as it had been with him There was some bittersweet memories and the reunion went better.
On a scavenging trip to a rooftop, Kyra met a man made of iron. She assumed that he was a robot of some kind until she learned that it was an iron armor suit. There was some sarcastic bonding and he gave Kyra something to think about in learning the power structure of the city.
It wasn't that Kyra was avoiding Riddick, but she wasn't going out of her way to have their paths cross. Until Riddick left her a note saying he wanted to talk. Even then, she made it clear he was to come to her if he wanted to talk. Eventually, he did. The concern for Carolyn's fear of the dark turned into a challenge to prove that she could keep up with him. Kyra picked up the gauntlet and showed him that she wasn't Jack any more.
Max: Arrived in Gotham in January. Her arrival came with paranoia that she'd been sent there by Ames White to get her out of the way while something big went down back in Seattle. She was met on arrival in Robinson Park by Dani and learned that she wasn't Psy Ops but a mutant. Max explained a little bit what a transgenic was and in returned learned about Gotham and being a mutant.
For now, she's staying with Dani and Mary out at the farm.
