Ivy is the Archive from the Dresden Files and Shasta is from the Horse and Boy from the Chronicles of Narnia and is based on RP play.

The enemy was getting closer. Ivy could feel it in her bones. It wasn't two thousand years of experience that she was drawing on or even magic. It was knowing who she was fighting against. She knew their habits and strategies. Her intuition paid off as she ducked behind the wall, the projectile missing her but only nearly. "Ha! You missed."

Ivy braved enemy fire and poked her head over the ice crusted wall. The sight that greeted her made her smile. He was so cute with the sun glinting off his hair and his cheeks rosy from the cold.

"I almost got you that time." Shasta said from his own hiding place behind a tree.

"You did." She acknowledged, leaning against the wall but with a snow ball in her hand hidden from view. "How did you know where I was?" Ivy had been impressed with the accuracy of the throw and wondered how he'd known where she'd been hiding.

"Battleship." He grinned sheepishly at her. "The dojo had game night and I played Battleship once."

That made Ivy laugh. "I thought you might be getting help from Loki." She glanced around like she expected the Trickster to suddenly appear as she teased him. "That's actually pretty clever since I was hiding behind a wall. That's sort of like the wall between players with Battleship." As she said the last word, Ivy threw her snow ball at Shasta.

She didn't wait to see if it hit its target but took off running to another hiding place closer to the woods.

Shasta ducked behind the tree before the snow could meet its objective, but barely. He laughed and took off running after Ivy with only a small pause to pick up snow to make another projectile.

Ivy risked a glance over her shoulder to see how close he was. That had been a mistake because her pace slowed down just enough that she was in range and the snowball hit her in the shoulder. Which of course had her dissolving into giggles and once started she couldn't stop. She stopped running and just stood there laughing. "I always forget how cold and wet snow is until I get smacked with it." Ivy giggled again, "literally this time."

Her laughter had Shasta smiling and he slipped his hand in hers. "This was fun."

"Yeah, it was. I've never had a snow ball fight before." There were so many things that she'd never done herself but she loved that she was doing them with Shasta. "Want to get some hot chocolate?"

Shasta's hand came up and brushed some of the snow from Ivy's hair. "I'm glad I suggested it then and hot chocolate sounds great."

Ivy looked up and couldn't resist the temptation, he was so cute. She leaned in and kissed him softly. "Thank you." She didn't just mean for the snowball fight but mostly for being him and seeing her as a person.

He seemed to understand the unspoken words and smiled softly. "You're welcome. Come on, let's get some hot chocolate and warm up."

She squeezed his hand as they began to walk toward the large estate.
